Fractal land maps for Beyond All Reason

Noise-shaped land: broken, uneven, full of small heights and hollows. No two games alike.

Fractal Land shapes the whole map from layered noise: small rises, hollows, ridges that come and go. There is no single feature to plan around, just a lot of terrain to read.

It is the style that feels most like a hand-made map, because the ground is never flat for long and every army finds cover somewhere.

Made for: 8×8 to 32×32, up to 16 players. Every map is mirrored, so both sides get the same ground and the same metal.

How it plays

What to build on a fractal land map

Ground

Mixed. Vehicles in the open patches, bots across the broken ground between them.

Air and sea

Hard to defend everything, so air raids find a gap. Water is rare.

Economy

Metal follows the terrain, so some spots are in hollows that are easy to hold and some are not.

Straight out of the generator

2 fractal land maps, untouched

From the gallery: one press of Generate map each, nothing edited. The name under a map rebuilds it.

Generate one

Offline, against the AI

Open Eclipse, press Create, choose Against AI, offline, pick FRACTAL_LAND as the style and a size. Eclipse generates the map and starts Beyond All Reason on it.

In a room

Type !genmap 4v4 FRACTAL_LAND (or 1v1, 2v2, 3v3) in the room chat. Everyone in the room gets the same map by name, nobody sends a file.
