Land bridge maps for Beyond All Reason

Two land masses, water between them, and one or two strips of ground that join them.

Land Bridge splits the map in two with water and leaves only a land bridge or two between the halves. Each team starts on its own land mass; the bridges are the obvious battlefield, and the water is the way around them.

A game of this style usually turns on who commits to the water first: hovercraft and amphibious units cross where tanks cannot, and a navy on the strait decides the bridge fights.

Made for: 24×24 to 32×32, 2 to 4 teams. Every map is mirrored, so both sides get the same ground and the same metal.

How it plays

What to build on a land bridge map

Ground

The bridges are chokes in the true sense: walls, turrets and artillery pay off, but so does patience.

Air and sea

Water on both sides means hovers, amphibious bots and ships get a role. Transports flank over the sea.

Economy

Metal is split between the halves; the bridges carry some of it, so holding one is worth something.

Straight out of the generator

1 land bridge map, untouched

From the gallery: one press of Generate map each, nothing edited. The name under a map rebuilds it.

Offline, against the AI

Open Eclipse, press Create, choose Against AI, offline, pick LAND_BRIDGE as the style and a size. Eclipse generates the map and starts Beyond All Reason on it.

In a room

Type !genmap 4v4 LAND_BRIDGE (or 1v1, 2v2, 3v3) in the room chat. Everyone in the room gets the same map by name, nobody sends a file.
